Cathedral of Hope - United Church of Christ is the world's largest church with primary outreach to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals. About 1,200 LGBTQ people and their straight allies gather weekly through six distinct and diverse worship services. On Sundays there are two traditional services, one modern service, and Spanish service. On-line broadcasts (You Tube channels, website) reach an additional 40,000+ people from 70 countries annually in online church services and activities. Cathedral continues to play a visible advocacy role in reclaiming the church from a conservative theology and was often quoted in national media in 2019. Ongoing education series serve to educate over 500 people on issues of the bible, sexuality, diversity, and cultural competency. Over 30 small groups meet through out the metroplex to do bible study and extend connection to over 400 people. The Cathedral now has numerous benevolence programs that reach a diverse targets including partnerships with five neighboring schools, outreach to homeless populations, youth programs and mission trips. The Cathedral has also created numerous programs and services in partnership with many other churches across the metroplex to ensure education and understanding to their church populations.
