The Consulate General of Canada has been proudly operating in downtown Dallas for more than 50 years; overseeing Canada-US bilateral relations in the states of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

Canada has been a consistently strong voice for the protection of human rights and the advancement of democratic values. This started with our central role in the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1947-1948 to our work at the United Nations today.

Both at home and abroad, Canada is proud to stand up for the protection and promotion of the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, 2-spirit and intersex (LGBTQ2I) people. The human rights of all persons are universal and indivisible. Everyone should enjoy the same fundamental human rights, regardless of their sexual orientation and their gender identity and expression.
